A staggered return to school

Welcome back to school

To ensure that there is a healthy and calm transition back into the school for our students we will be staggering our return in the first week.

The staggered return will be as follows:

ONLY STUDENTS INDICATED TO BE ON SITE, REMOTE LEARNING WILL CONTINUE FOR THE OTHER YEAR GROUPS.

·         Monday 25th October: Year 11 and Diverse Learning only

·         Tuesday 26th October: Year 7, Year 8 and Year 11 and Diverse Learning only

·         Wednesday 27th October: Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11 and Diverse Learning only

·         Thursday 28th October: All Year Groups

This will allow us to:

·         Deliver a focused transition back to high school program targeted to each year group

·         Establish, implement, and teach our health and safety protocols in a safe and concise manner to each year group including.

o   Rooming and timetable changes.

o   Movement around the school between classes.

o   Movement in the playground areas and allocated areas to minimise the mixing of cohorts.

o   Hygiene protocols in and out of the classroom.

·         Re-establish and revisit our BRAVE values and behaviour expectations on returning to school including.

o   Promoting our guiding principle of Positive Relationships Positive Outcomes

o   Applying Yondr (mobile phones locked in pouches during the school learning day to reduce distractions and foster engaged learning)

o   Wearing of full school uniform

o   Promote an understanding that lockdown has affected each child and family differently

o   Revisiting appropriate behaviours in our interaction with others

o   Where to access additional wellbeing support

ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR FACE MASKS IN THE CLASSROOM and IN ANY INDOOR SETTING also on BUSES.  Please be mindful that this is a Department of Education requirement based on Health advice. Only a medical certificate will exempt a student from wearing a face mask.

All students are expected to return on their allocated dates. Vaccination status has no impact on students attending school.
