Premier's Reading Challenge

Each year Moorebank High School encourages students to participate in the Premier's Reading Challenge. The former Premier, the Hon. Bob Carr, instituted the Challenge to encourage a love of Reading. The current Premier awards a signed certificate to all students who complete the Challenge! (Students can also earn School merit certificates as they complete the challenge.)

What is the Challenge?

The Challenge is for students from years 7-9 to to read 20 books between March 1 and August 20 this year.

The Reading list can be viewed here :

There is also a new website that students can access to help them choose books to read and add books to their Reading Record here:

What do parents/caregivers need to do?

Students must fill out a Reading record (available from Mrs Tierney) as they finish each book. Each entry must be signed by a parent/caregiver or teacher who knows the book has been read. The completed Reading Record must then be signed by a teacher (Mrs Tierney) who will assist the students to complete their online reading record by August 20. Certificates will be awarded in November/December.

If you have any further questions about the Premier's Reading Challenge please contact Mrs Tierney in the School Library on 9601 3999.
