Mathematics Matters

Mathematics provides an effective way of building mental discipline and encourages mental rigor. It plays a vital role in all aspects of life, whether in everyday dealings such as time, driving, cooking, managing and earning money or careers in accounting, landscaping, banking, engineering etc.

Mathematics also encourages logical reasoning, critical thinking, abstract or spatial thinking, problem-solving ability and effective communication skills. All skills which are essential in the 21st century and evolving future-focused working environments.

At Moorebank HS, the Mathematics faculty prides itself on setting meaningful tasks so that students can draw connections to the real world. We promote life-long learning through our activities and do our best to ensure we maximise student engagement.
